This is a plain-language summary of what uBuildr collects and why. It's meant to be honest and readable, not legal advice.
What we collect
- Your account — sign-in is handled by realmcat, the identity provider uBuildr runs on. When you sign in, we store the identifier, display name, email address, and avatar realmcat shares with us. We never see your password.
- What you create — the posts, replies, likes, and follows you make here.
- Notifications — if you turn on push notifications, we store a delivery address for that browser so we can send them. Turning them off removes it.
- Basic usage — privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics that count visits. No ad networks, no cross-site tracking, and we never sell your data.
Third parties
- GIF search — when you search for a GIF in the composer, your search words are forwarded to the GIF provider along with a pseudonymous identifier. Your account details are never shared with them.
- Embedded video — pages with embedded videos load thumbnails from the video platform's servers; players use privacy-enhanced embeds where available and set nothing until you press play.
Your choices
- Sign out any time to end your session.
- Online status — the "online" indicators are optional; turn them off in Settings and you appear in neither.
- Delete your account from Settings. Your profile is anonymized and sign-in tokens are erased immediately; everything else is permanently removed after a grace period. Your realmcat sign-in is separate and is managed at realmcat.
Cookies & storage
No consent banner here because there's nothing to consent to:
- Sign-in cookies — keep you logged in. Strictly necessary, gone when your account is. realmcat keeps its own strictly necessary sign-in cookie on its site.
- On-device preferences — stored in your browser's local storage and never leave your device.
- No tracking cookies. None. Analytics are cookieless, and there are no ads or third-party trackers.
